Mission Statement:
To provide, for anyone that has had to leave of high school for any reason and regardless of their age, a free scholarship to access the equivalent of an extended learning program using the Internet to complete their high school education. Using proprietary programming that displays text and other forms of media the system provides for an interactive learning experience, including online grading. When a passing grade is attained, a certificate of completion is provided with the value of a full diploma.
The Loss of Hope vs. The New Opportunity:
In the Philippines, the rate that students leave high school before completion is as high as 30% to 35%, mostly in within the final 2 years. This for the most part, this is because the child will reach the age that they can work and help provide for their families. Access to re-enter the system is basically non-existent as the government and the private sector have invested in the idea of extended access using the brick and mortar access approach. ELearning, as of now has not been a viable solution. ELearning, as described and mandated by the Philippine congress has fallen off the foreseeable map sometime around 2005 and 2006.
If we all do nothing, all of this will continue year after year.
Mabuhay eLearning can provide an additional safety net layer. Let’s give the third that are driven with the overwhelming desire for knowledge, the basic first step: Restoring the concept that there is hope and not being left behind.
